Home/Quality Promise

We inspect like it's our money at risk — because it is.

A rejected container doesn't just cost you. It costs us the tannery relationship, the freight, and the next order. So our inspection isn't a formality at the end — it's the checklist below, run on every lot, photographed and scored, before anything leaves Kasur.

The inspection checklist

Published, not hidden. This is exactly what we check.

Pre-Shipment Inspection Standard · Rev. 9
LF-QC-STD · effective 2026-01
01
Thickness verification
Measured with a calibrated gauge at nine points per hide. Must fall inside the substance range on your approved sample.
± 0.1 mm of spec
02
Defect count per sq ft
Scars, brands, veins, open grain and healed wounds counted and mapped. Recorded as an average, not rounded in our favour.
≤ 3 defects / sq ft
03
Colour match to approved sample
Read against your signed swatch under D65 daylight using a spectrophotometer. The number is the number.
ΔE ≤ 1.5
04
Cutting yield estimate
Usable area after trimming edges and unusable defects, so you know what you can actually cut from the lot.
≥ 88% usable
05
Finish & smell check
Rub-fastness, flex, and a plain smell test for over-fatliquoring or residual chemistry. If it smells wrong, it fails.
Pass / fail
Any lot failing a hard-limit criterion is re-worked or rejected before shipment — never quietly shipped and hoped through.SIGNED PER LOT BY INSPECTOR

Our claims policy, in one paragraph

If the leather you receive doesn't match the approved sample and the specs on your report, tell us within 14 days of delivery with photos. If we agree, you choose: we re-make the shorted quantity at our cost, or we credit it. Genuine grading disputes go to a neutral third-party inspector, and we split that fee. No arguing over a container you can't return.
